Glan - Llyn
I have just finished my third week teaching, by spending a week with 140 year 8 pupils at Glanllyn camp, an outdoor persuit centre run by The Urdd. (or here if you prefer english :) )
It was quite an experience to be cast loose with this many 12/13 year olds, sent away from home for a week, and I have lots of material to add to my reflective diary observations. I came home yesterday knackered, with a sprained ankle, and a nasty case of "man flu"
They also have an interesting take on websites in Welsh or English, by publishing a Bilingual site. I have never come across this idea before, and i'm impressed. Its here/yma
Another interesing aside, is that a much younger Chris Howell, accompanied by Rob Matthews, and David Algar visited GlanLlyn almost 30 years ago, as the "older boys" sent to help the teachers handle a group of younger Bishop Gore pupils on their visit. The circle of life, eh?
