day 2
my posts will be brief, initially, hoping to expand later when I have more time.
thoughts for the day: -
For My form:
Lay out clear rules at the start of term. Set out your stall
eg:-
When I talk, no one else does
no-one to enter the room without me present
leave the room as you find it
sit on chairs with all 4 legs on the ground
“I’ll be fair with you if you are fair with me”
Review use of the student planner at the start of term
Use non specific threats most of the time, rather than a direct “stop that or xxxx”
Give positive strokes, too
for my lessons:
Lay out the plan for the year for each class at the start of term
Go through the class list, putting names to faces. Ask if you are pronouncing names correctly
Ask lots of questions of the class. Engage them as much as possible – less chatter
Don’t Get sidetracked - keep one eye on the overall picture at all times
