Let's start at the very beginning
In the words of Julie Andrews's Nun, 'Let's start at the very beginning'.So I kicked off with some Key Stage Three Science revision. I chose CGP's KS3 Science Complete Revision and Practice, and read with gusto.
I was surprised by how much came back to me as I read, and that it all made good sense. I felt that the material presented was more relevant to the real world, than the more theoretical Science I remember from school. That has to be a good thing. The topics seemed logically connected, and flowed from one idea to the next. I was pleased by how I did in the revision summary tests, and the mock exam papers.
The book itself was well written, with a light-hearted approach, and notes at the foot of each page written in a much more informal language. The layout was clear, bright, and uncluttered, with plenty of easily understood diagrams (clearly labelled and colourful). This came across well, and should appeal to its target audience more than other stuffy textbooks or guides.

My hackles were now up, and this led me on to flick through GCSE Chemistry (Revision Guide). Again, I was pleased with the scope of the course, and my recollections of the subject. More on this to come......
