My Appalling School Report

We watched an interesting programme the other night, My Appalling School Report .

This edition explores how a school report can tell you as much about the teacher who wrote them as they can about the person they are writing about. It also looks at how receiving a less than glowing school report affected the likes of Churchill, Hitler and JF Kennedy.

This was fascinating, and gave me many pointers on what NOT to put on reports, and some definite clangers to avoid, such as making sure you are talking about the right child, and Avoiding the dreaded 'three worders'.These include 'must do better','has steadily improved', and 'has made progress' or even worse, the one word comment, 'satisfactory','poor', and even 'unacceptable'!

I shall have to watch next week for even more hints.
