Coursework Cheats
Whilst looking at my e-mail today, I noticed that the context-sensitive ads on the sidebar had thrown up links to the following sites: -
custom essays and bargain-bucket.com
These sites both offer to complete coursework for students, even up to PhD level!
Surely offering such a service is wrong? Whilst it may not be illegal to offer such services, the use if this material is clearly deceitful, and, if spotted can lead to disqualification of the pupil.
Each pupil at my daughter's school is given a weighty document detailing the school's position on plagiarism, the use of mobile phones in exams, guidelines for coursework, and so on. I'm not sure how common it is for schools to hand out such material. However, I have heard that pupils are still caught, and punished for these breeches of trust, and that cheating is a high profile issue at the moment.
It also seems that teachers have to be aware not only that pupils may plagiarise work, cut and paste work from the internet, but may buy complete coursework assignments from such sources.
